It’s a good day to be Japanese, at least if you’re a snowboarder.

Japanese snowboarders won both the men’s (Kehhei Kudoh) and Women’s Snowboarding Halfpipe at the LG FIS Snowboarding World Cup kickoff at Cardrona in New Zealand.

Ladies Snowboarding winner Nakashima leads a growing camp of Japanese professional snowboarders.

She isn’t new to the worldwide snowboarding circuit either. In 2005, Nakashima, a member of the Japanese Olympic Halfpipe team, won her first World Cup halfpipe competition at Whistler in British Columbia, Canada, expn.com reports.

Sina Candrian of Switzerland finished second and Linn Haug of Norway rounded out the top three spots of the ladies World Cup Snowboarding Halfpipe competition, lat34.org reports. No other rider was even close to challenging Nakashima in the win, lat34.org also said.

The snowboarding World Circuit heads next to Saas Fee in Switzerland on October 31.
