Snowboard Sizing Chart: How To Choose the Size of Your Snowboard

Posted August 26th by Womens Snowboarding Enthusiast in Womens Snowboarding Gear

Let’s be clear: There’s no right or wrong size snowboard for you. The size of your snowboard is really up to each individual person.

A general rule of thumb is the snowboard height should rreach between your chin and nose when standing on end.

Depending on terrain and weather conditions, you may choose to ride longer and wider snowboards.

If you’re an all-mountain snowboarder, choosing a longer snowboard is likely the best choice. I would suggest not picking a board that stands taller than your nose. Longer snowboards tend to perform better in deep powder, too. Longer boards can give you more control when speeding down a mountain, and they can get you going pretty quick too.

If you prefer to stay on groomed hills and in the park, a shorter snowboard will give you more mobility for pulling off huge tricks and controlling your rail slides.

Snowboard outfitter The House suggest that snowboarders should pick a snowboard size that is about 88 to 91 percent of the rider’s height. Here’s how The House shakes down snowboard sizing:

4′10″ snowboarders should seek a 125-140cm snowboard lengths

5′ snowboarders should grab a 130-142cm snowboard length

5′2″ snowboarders should go after a 135-145cm snowboard length.

The House’s snowboard sizing chart extends similarly all the way up to people who are 5′8″ and above.

If you are 5′8″ snowboarder, try out snowboards 147-155cm in length.

5′10″ snowboarders should aim for 154-163cm snowboards.
